The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed condolences and support to the victims of a tornado that occurred on June 24 in the south-east of the Czech Republic.

“Tragic news of the loss of life and damage caused by a devastating tornado in the Czech Republic. My heart goes out to the families who lost their loved ones. I wish a speedy recovery to the injured. Ukraine stands by our Czech friends at this difficult time,” Kuleba said on Twitter.

On June 24, a powerful tornado occurred in the southeast of the Czech Republic, near the border with Slovakia and Austria. The wind speed reached 267-322 kilometers per hour, and hail up to 10 centimeters in size was also observed.

As a result, the town of Hodonin and parts of the nearby villages of Luzice, Hrusky, Moravska Nova Ves and Mikulcice were partially destroyed. The media outlets, citing data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, report 300 injured. There is also information about the victims, their number is still unknown.
