MINSK – Russia’s decision to establish a border zone is a political one and cannot be implemented, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.

“What kind of a border zone is 30 km? I believe it’s a purely political decision,” Lukashenko said while meeting with journalists in Minsk on Feb. 3.

“All these mindless uncoordinated steps, which only worsen our relations, it should not be done! We need to go back,” the president said.
