You're reading: Lukashenko orders to promptly draft documents on further work of government

MINSK – Documents on the further work of the Belarusian government must be drafted promptly, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said, adding that it was mostly formed.

“The main issue deals with the presidential administration, Natalya Ivanovna [Kochanova, the chairperson of the Council of the Republic], you’ll get involved. The government, as usual, is stepping down after the presidential election, all documents must be drafted, immediately signed, checked and the government must be ordered to continue working until the final composition of the government is formed,” the BelTA state news agency cited Lukashenko on August 15.

“At that we must bear in mind that we told the people in advance, a year, six months ahead, that we’re forming the government and showing who the president is to work with after the election,” he said.

The government is mostly formed, he said. “There might be some nuances. I have just talked to [Prime Minister] Roman Golovchenko. He is in office and working, everyone is ready to work. The government is functioned. It must be formalized so that it has legal effect. This is why the order must be drafted and introduced immediately,” he said.
