CHISINAU – Moldova has recorded 345 new cases of COVID-19, the highest number recorded in the past three months, the Moldovan Health Ministry told Interfax on Aug. 17.
“Of the 6,644 tests for COVID-19 processed in the past 24 hours, 2,048 were antigen express tests. On Tuesday, 345 new COVID-19 infections were confirmed, of which 292 were among those who haven’t been vaccinated. Thus, the total number of recorded cases of COVID-19 in our country stands at 262,589. Active cases stand at 1,979,” the Health Ministry said.
Medical facilities have admitted 325 patients with confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 39 of them are very critical, with three being placed on ventilators, the ministry said.
Also in the past 24 hours, 147 people have recovered (254,290 in total since the pandemic began), and seven patients previously diagnosed with COVID-19 have died, bringing the total death toll to 6,320, it said.
