MOSCOW – Montenegro’s accession to NATO should be considered as its joining the alliance, which is unfriendly towards Russia, Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergei Naryshkin said.

“You know that one cannot call NATO a bloc friendly towards us. You should proceed from that,” Naryshkin told Interfax on Saturday, replying to a question as to whether Montenegro’s accession to NATO poses a threat to Russia.

As reported on June 2, the ceremony on the occasion of Montenegro’s joining NATO will take place at the organization’s headquarters in Brussels on June 7, 2017.
