Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny’s defense team will seek his release, lawyer Vadim Kobzev told Interfax.
“We’ll go to a cassation court and to the ECHR, we’ll go everywhere,” Kobzev said in reply to the relevant question from Interfax.
The Moscow Region Court ruled earlier on Thursday to uphold a lower court ruling on keeping Navalny in custody at least until February 15.
Navalny himself said he was not surprised by this judgment. “Everything was pretty clear to me even before the hearing,” he said in reply to the judge’s question as to whether the ruling was clear enough to him.
