New York Times: Longtime Putin ally removed as Prosecutor General in Russia

Russia’s prosecutor general, a central pillar of the country’s capricious law enforcement system throughout the 20-year rule of President Vladimir V. Putin, was removed from office on Jan. 20, marking the start of what is expected to be a major reshuffle of senior officials.
