MOSCOW – Radio Liberty has said it will continue journalistic work in Russia.

“We refrain from assumptions as to what Russia might do next after today’s decision or how this might affect us. The task of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty is to present honest and objective information for our Russian audience. We will continue our journalistic work,” a statement on the website of the radio station’s Idel.Realii regional project said.

The Radio Liberty Corporation has been notified of the Duma decision to class foreign media outlets as so-called “foreign agents,” it said.

“At the same time, the situation regarding Russian media outlets in the US and US ones in Russia remains extremely unequal. RT and Sputnik broadcast their information in the US freely, whereas Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in Russia has no access to cable networks and was forced to stop cooperating with Russian partners due to administrative pressure,” the statement said.
