You're reading: RFE/RL: Moscow to replicate famous 1941 Revolution Day parade

More than 5,000 people were expected to participate in a Moscow parade to mark the 75th anniversary of a legendary 1941 parade in which soldiers marched through Red Square to celebrate the 24th anniversary of the Bolshevik revolution and then continued directly to fight the German Army just outside of Moscow.

The November 7 event in Moscow will reportedly include some veterans who participated in the original 1941 parade, as well as some who marched in the 1945 victory parade.
