VLADIVOSTOK – Newly appointed Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said he believes Russia does not need a tit-for-tat response to Washington’s visa restrictions.
“We need to continue issuing visas for U.S. citizens wishing to visit Russia. We will not respond. And I would not want to use some strong, biting mottoes now. We shouldn’t yield to emotions, (should) try to rectify this tilt, try to prevent further descend of relations into a crisis. (We must) stabilize them at the first stage and then think how to move forward,” Antonov said in an interview with the Vesti v Subbotu (News on Saturday) TV program broadcast in the Far East.
