Tut.by news website photographer Vladimir Gridin and his colleague from the Novy Chas newspaper Alexander Vasyukovich, who were detained in Minsk on Sunday, will spend 11 days under arrest, the Belarusian Association of Journalists said.

“The hearing resulted in 11 days of arrest for journalist Alexander Vasyukovich and […] 11 days of arrest for Vladimir Gridin,” the Association said on Telegram.

Both defendants were charged with “breaching the rules of organization or holding of mass events” as defined by the Code of Administrative Offenses.

As reported earlier, Vasyukovich and Gridin were detained in Minsk on Sunday, September 13, after an unsanctioned march. More than 500 people were detained in the Belarusian capital on that day.

A court heard cases of both photo correspondents on Tuesday but ordered further inquiry.
