You're reading: United Russia leading in Duma elections after 90% of votes counted

MOSCOW – The United Russia party is leading in the State Duma elections with 49.65% of the vote now that 90.3% of the votes have been counted.

This information is available on the display at the Russian Central Elections Commission (CEC).

According to the CEC, the Russian Communist Party has 19.56% of the vote, the Liberal Democratic Party has 7.51%, and A Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth has 7.38%.

The current data suggests that the New People party will also win the elections with 5.33% of the vote.

According to information from single-member constituencies, where 90.19% of the election protocols have been processed, United Russia is leading in 196 constituencies, the Communist Party in 14, and A Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth in seven, while the Liberal Democratic Party, Yabloko, the Party of Growth, Civic Platform, New People, and the Rodina Party are so far winning in one constituency each. Three independent candidates are also winning in the State Duma elections.

The elections took place on Sept. 17-19. The 8th State Duma was elected using a mixed system: 225 deputies on party tickets and another 225 in single-member constituencies.
