Washington said on September 20 it has added 33 Russian individuals connected to intelligence services and defense agencies to the sanctions list.

The list was published on the U.S. State Department’s website on September 20.

Under the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act of 2017 (CAATSA) these persons are added to the sanctions list for being a part of, or operating for or on behalf of, the defense or intelligence sectors of the Russian government. Thus, three individuals were added to the sanctions list of persons connected to the Russian defense sector, and another 30 connected to the Russian intelligence sector.
