No decision has yet been made on resuming negotiations on Ukraine that were held while the previous U.S. administration was in office between Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov and former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Tefft said.
“No decision has been made on that,” Tefft said in reply to a question from Interfax.
“When Secretary [of State Rex] Tillerson was asked, he said ‘Yes, we’re considering but I have nothing else to tell you’,” Tefft said.
It is so far unclear who exactly may replace Nuland in this dialogue, he said.
