The United States hopes for a full and thorough investigation by Ukrainian authorities and the establishment of the causes and circumstances of the death of a citizen of Belarus, Head of the Belarusian House in Ukraine public organization Vitaliy Shyshov.
“The United States is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Belarusian activist Vitaliy Shyshov in Kyiv, and we extend our deepest condolences to his loved ones. The death takes place amid an unacceptable Belarusian crackdown on civil society, and we look forward to a complete and thorough investigation by Ukrainian authorities to establish its causes and circumstances,” the U.S. Embassy said on Twitter on August 3.
