Russians have responded with anger and disappointment over comments from the Trump White House at odds with their stance towards Crimea, which the Kremlin annexed in 2014. On Feb. 14 White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said “President Trump has made it very clear that he expects the Russian government to de-escalate violence in the Ukraine and return Crimea.” At the same time, Trump “fully expects to and wants to get along with Russia.”
