Since there’s no need to rush anywhere on weekends, there’s time to enjoy a long and delicious brunch at one of these Kyiv restaurants, which have dishes to suit any taste and budget.

Ronin

Ronin is one of the few restaurants in Kyiv serving the Japanese-Peruvian cuisine Nikkei, famous for its combination of Peruvian ingredients like quinoa and yucca, and seafood. The restaurant offers all-you-can-eat buffet brunches every Sunday.

The menu usually includes oysters, fish ceviche (Peruvian seafood dish), tostaditos with fish or meat, salads with seafood, Nikkei-rolls and sushi, as well as miso soup with tofu, chicken noodles and beef burgers. For dessert, Ronin offers meringue and crème brûlée. And the drinks include white, red, sparkling and mulled wine, lemonade and mors (a fruit drink).

Lubchik

On weekends, Lubchik restaurant brings a bit of Ukraine’s southern seaside city Odesa to Kyiv, serving cuisine featuring crayfish and Black Sea fish. At its all-you-can-eat buffet brunches on weekends, Lubchik offers crayfish, mussels, forshmak (a popular Jewish cuisine hot appetizer made of chopped herring), hummus, pâté and chebureki (deep-fried turnover filled with meat and onions).

Apart from that, Lubchik prepares one specialty every weekend, such as scallops with oysters, crabs and rapanas (sea snails), or turbot with plaice. The restaurant also serves red and white wine, mors and kompot (a fruit drink).

The buffet menu varies from time to time, but usually includes pumpkin soup or borshch, pilaf, salads, jerked meat and tartlets. Barvy serves desserts such as chocolate pie with cranberry and muffins. The drinks menu includes various kinds of wine, uzvar (Ukrainian traditional fruit and berries drink), cider and beer.

The brunch menu also includes banana waffles, sorghum porridge with peaches and nuts, muesli, French toast, salads, soups and more. Milk Bar serves a large variety of drinks, including different kinds of coffee, tea, milk, hot fruit drinks, smoothies and fresh juice.

Meat restaurant Vatra offers weekend brunches for real meat-lovers – serving up premium Ukrainian beef steaks, BBQ brisket and ribs. Also on the menu is smoked beef and pork ribs, smoked turkey, sausage with dried olives and tomatoes, and pastrami sandwiches.

Apart from that, the restaurant offers smoked catfish and trout, cheese plates, various salads, baked vegetables with ricotta cheese, banosh (corn flour porridge) and bohrach (meat and vegetable soup). Vatra also bakes pastries and strudels with cherry and pumpkin, smoked apples and fresh fruit. Drinks include wine, uzvar and mors.

Every weekend Bessarabiia offers a buffet brunch, serving mussels, mititei (grilled ground meat rolls), forshmak, hummus, poached eggs, cheese and smoked meat.

The restaurant also makes granola and yogurt, bakes various kinds of pastries, and offers a choice of salads. Their drinks menu includes red, white and sparkling wine, and house-made kompot.
