Color Fest Ukraine
Color Fest
is a Ukrainian interpretation of an Indian national holiday Holi. It is about
to take place in Kyiv for the second time. As at any Holi holiday, the celebration
will be mostly about throwing dry paint in one another. Indian-themed
master-classes are also on the program – for those who want to be trained in
traditional belly dance and mehndi application. The festival menu offers

Old Car Fest
This one is
for the lovers of retro cars. First ever Old Car Fest will last for three days.
The festival, or rather an exhibition, will feature three types of cars – domestic,
European and military. The cars are coming both from Ukraine and abroad.
Organizers offer transfer from Vokzalna metro station to the place of the

David Brown (Brazzaville)
David Brown
is an American musician, vocalist and front man of Brazzaville band. Brown has
been living in Barcelona since 2003 and has come several times to Ukraine with
his band and has even released songs with a bit of Russian words. At the Kyiv concert on Aug. 9 Brown will
certainly go for some of his best pieces from the band’s 10 albums.

Sorochyntsy Fair
The Fair in
Sorochyntsy is a unique annual fair held in Velyky Sorochyntsy village in
Poltava Oblast since 18th century. The
fair is one of Ukraine`s trademark attractions. Nearly 1,500 participants
present their products at the fair. It’s also a great chance to witness a showcase
of the folk crafts. Also, expect theatrical performances, various master-classes
of pottery and embroidery art.

‘Psycho’
A mystery
thriller “Psycho” (1998) directed by Gus Van Sant will be screened in the Freud
House on Aug. 14. The movie is a remake
of the Alfred Hitchkok’s 1960 classic movie. After the screening, there will be
a discussion of Hitchkok works. Screening will be in English with Ukrainian
subtitles. The discussion will be in Ukrainian or Russian.

Book Sale
The Book
Sale is an annual fair for those bookworms who are not giving up paper editions
for the electronic ones. Visitors will be offered to donate the books they’ve
already read and buy new ones cheaply. Foreign languages books are expected to
be on sale as well as Ukrainian ones. The prices will vary from Hr 5 to 40. The
Book Sale is a charity project. Part of the money from the sale will be given
to the children libraries.

Zakhid Fest 2014
Zakhid Fest
is an international music festival. Founded in 2009, Zakhid Fest attracts
thousands of ethno and rock music fans. This year, it was one of the few
festivals that weren’t canceled due to the political situation. Zakhid will last
for three days and will offer four stages: main stage, rock stage, lounge stage
and art stage. Such music giants as Anti-Flag, Lyapis Trubetskoy, Noize MC,
TNMK and Vopli Vidopliasova will be responsible for the main stage. Talented
Dakh Daughters will be performing on the Art-Stage. Trains to Lviv go
several times a day from Kyiv railway station. For more information go to

Monty Python
British
Council in Ukraine presents a show of Monty Python troupe from London on
Ukrainian screens in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Odessa. Troupe members-
Eric Idle, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin and Terry Jones decided to
reunite to perform their best skits and sketches. This is a must-see show of
the legendary British comedians.
