Circa Waves

Another British rock band is coming to Kyiv to give a show here for the first time. The four-piece group Circa Waves was formed in Liverpool in 2003. Since then, the band has released three studio albums, toured around Europe and performed at the world’s best music festivals like Britain’s Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds and Boardmasters. At the upcoming show in Kyiv, Circa Waves will present hits from their latest studio album called “What’s It Like Over There?”, where the band blends indie rock with electronic music elements. Some critics have compared the band’s latest album with the songs of the iconic British rock group Arctic Monkeys. In Kyiv, Circa Waves will perform onstage at the Atlas music venue on Nov. 1

‘The Peanut Butter Falcon’

A sleeper hit with a star cast and a touching story to tell, “The Peanut Butter Falcon” follows 22-year-old Zak, a man with Down syndrome who dreams of becoming a professional wrestler – the fi lm’s name is his sports nickname to be. Played by U.S. actor Zack Gottsagen, who himself has Down syndrome, Zak escapes his care home and meets a fisherman played by Shia LaBeouf. They start a journey together only to be caught by a social worker performed by Dakota Johnson. Despite little promotion and a small budget, the film became a sensation praised by critics for its performances. The U.S. entertainment news outlet Variety called the film “a feel-good niche indie with its priorities in the right place.” The picture will be screened in English with Ukrainian subtitles.
