Kodaline

As they tour around Europe, Irish band Kodaline will stop by in Kyiv to perform their famous “All I want” and “High Hopes” on the stage of the Bel Étage music hall. Playing the mix of pop rock, folk and indie, Kodaline will also present their new album “Politics of Living.” Enjoy the band’s intimate lyrics, charming music and tender vocals on Nov. 4.

Kyiv Critics Week

The festival brings together film lovers and professional critics to watch and discuss hand-picked premieres and time-tested classics. In its second year, Kyiv Critics Week will feature seven films from top film festivals’ lineups this year, including “Happy as Lazzaro” (Best Screenplay at the Cannes), “Border” (the Canne’s Un Certain Regard Prize) and the scandalous “The House that Jack Built” by Lars von Trier. Honoring the 100th anniversary of Ingmar Bergman’s birth, the festival will also show six landmark films by the outstanding Swedish director. All films are screened in the original languages with Ukrainian subtitles.

Kyiv Modern Ballet/ Sergey Efanov

‘Sleeping Beauty’

The legendary ballet “Sleeping Beauty” will be staged by the Kyiv Modern Ballet’s chief choreographer Radu Poklitaru on Oct. 28 at Zhovtnevyi Palace in Kyiv. The “Sleeping Beauty” by Poklitaru is based on a story of Italian poet and fairy tale collector Giambattista Basile, and reflects a story of a princess who fell asleep forever. The music for the ballet was composed by Tchaikovsky.

Alcomarket

For those who want to try out a variety of alcoholic beverages by Ukrainian producers Vsi Svoi has organized an Alcomarket, to be held on Nov. 3,4 at Vsi Svoi D12 in Kyiv. The market offers a selection of wines, craft beers, nalyvka Ukrainian liqueurs, as well as cheeses, sweets, meat, sauces and honey by Ukrainian producers.
