You're reading: Game of Thrones star gets married in Ukrainian designer attire

The only thing reminiscent of “Game of Thrones” at Sophie Turner’s wedding was the snow-white color of her outfit.

The actress — who plays Sansa Stark, one of the key characters in the hit TV series, which is in its final season — married the singer Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers in Las Vegas on May 2.

Turner, 23, wore a silky white jumpsuit by Bevza, a Ukrainian brand created by designer Svitlana Bevza. Her unconventional choice of bridal attire made headlines on American fashion and lifestyle websites.

The jumpsuit is from Bevza’s fall collection called “Closet,” which goes on sale on June 1. The jumpsuit has a close-fitting waistline with an elastic band belt and features a deep V-neck. It can now be pre-ordered for 580 euro.

The “secret” wedding ceremony was video-streamed by DJ Diplo on Instagram. An Elvis Presley impersonator officiated.

The ceremony took place a few hours after the couple was spotted at the Billboard Music Awards, where Jonas performed.

Although Las Vegas is often a place for faux marriages, the wedding of Turner and Jonas was real. The U.K. actress and the U.S. singer have been engaged for a year and a half, and both have said they wanted a small wedding.

Bevza is a Ukrainian clothing brand that has been designing minimalistic apparel for women since 2006. The Kyiv Post reached out to the designer for a comment.

The designer’s husband, Ukraine’s Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan, posted on Facebook about Turner’s choice of dress, congratulating his wife.

“Congratulations, my Love!” Omelyan wrote. “Ukrainians aren’t just capable of writing stories that give American blockbusters a run for their money — they can also be at the cutting edge of style and fashion!”

This isn’t the first time Bevza comes under the spotlight in the West. In December 2018, the U.S. actress Dakota Johnson wore a silk dress by Bevza for the Marrakech Film Festival. Another U.S. actress and model, Emily Ratajkowski, was spotted wearing a Bevza dark navy mini-dress in September of the same year.

Sophie Turner played the princess and later the lady of Winterfell castle in the hit fantasy television series “Game of Thrones.” The show premiered in 2011 and will conclude with its eighth season, which is currently being broadcasted. The last episode is scheduled for May 19.
