Game of Thrones actors Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson, (The Mountain), and Hannah Waddingham (Septa Unella) have come to Kyiv to star in a hilarious yet powerful commercial for Sodastream, a system for making sodas at home.

The video is an interpretation of the “Walk of Shame” scene from “Games of Thrones” Season 5, in which the character Cersei (played by Lena Headey) embarks on a nude walk of atonement while followed by Septa Unella (played by Waddingham) under the crowd’s evil gaze.

Only instead of Cersei the protagonist is, as we later find out, a “Game of Thrones” production assistant, played by British actor Ross Hatt.

In the commercial, the production assistant (Hatt) picks up some sparkling bottled water at a supermarket, much to Waddingham’s disgust. Waddingham suddenly appears, chanting “Shame!” like her character Unella did in the famous scene, and follows Hatt around the supermarket aisles and outside.

Humiliated, Hatt eventually reaches his destination, which turns out to be an HBO set for “Game of Thrones” where actor Björnsson meets him. Björnsson stands up and berates Hatt for using plastic packaging that harms the environment.

The video advertises the home soda-making system Sodastream, which is being marketed as a solution to the environmental issue of the overuse of plastic bottles.

The advert was filmed in September 2016 and produced by Kyiv-based film company Radioaktivefilm, who also worked on music videos like “Up&Up” by Coldplay, “Shine” by Years & Years, and “Wings” by Hurts.

The locations used in the ad included Kyiv tourist hotspot Andriyivskyi Uzviz.
