French singer with beautiful vocals to perform for Kyiv audiences

French pop singer Garou got first introduced to wide audiences playing the role of Quasimodo in the stage production of “The Hunchback of Notre-Dame de Paris.” He used his new found fame to launch a career in pop music.

Born Pierre Garand in Quebec, Garou mastered piano and guitar while still in primary school. As an adolescent he was a guitarist in a college band, after finishing secondary studies he served in the military as a trumpet player in a brass band.

After the musical “Notre-Dame de Paris,” Garou managed to launch a successful international career in Quebec, France, and many other European countries. “Sous le Vent,” Garou’s duet with Celin Dion, was an international hit and the singer went on to win four Adisq Gala Awards, including Best Male Singer and Best Pop-Rock Album. He matured rapidly between his first album “Seul” and “Reviens.” His unique voice (think Joe Cocker in French) and solid band made his third self-titled release “Garou” one of the best selling Francophone albums of the past few years.

In attempt to gain even more fans around the world Garou released his latest album “Piece Of My Soul” in English. On it, he cooperated with some of the famous names in music. Matchbox Twenty front man Rob Thomas provided the rock tinged song “Stand Up” and Garou co-wrote “The First Day Of My life” with Enrique Iglesias.
