You're reading: Glenn Miller Orchestra

Glenn Miller Orchestra is one of the world’s most famous jazz orchestras.

Founded in 1937, it was led by trombonist Miller for seven years. In 1944, he boarded a flight to Paris that never arrived.

Miller’s plane disappeared somewhere over the English Channel to the great shock of his fans. The orchestra was taken over by his close friend, carrying on the orchestra’s performances in Miller’s honor and memory.

Nowadays, the world has three Glenn Miller Orchestras. There are two licensed clones and one original. The one coming to Kyiv was formed 20 years ago by Dutchman Wil Salden. He spent a lot of time studying the history of Miller’s music and now uses that knowledge to recreate the original pieces with painstaking precision.
