Kyiv Fire Festival to set the capital “ablaze”
From June 6 to June 8 Kyiv Fire Festival 2008 will take place in the city. This year the festival has international status because for the first time ever international groups of fire art like Imakokode (France), Antti Suniala (Finland), and Ukrainian fakir Makhamom from the theater Sham have been invited. It is a 100 percent free art and music festival for party seekers that like anything to do with fire. Apart from showcasing some of the most cutting edge fire art about they will give you the chance to witness some of the finest fire performers you are ever likely to see. They will be showcasing some dazzling purveyors of fire juggling, eating, blowing, poi, staff, double staff, ropes, flaming hula-hoop and any other fire type of tricks for audiences in Kyiv.
The festival will also include classes. All participants of the fest will gather to give master classes for guests of the festival. These classes will take place on Trukhaniv Island. The festival will take place at three locations: by the fortress “Kosyi Kaponyr” (Slanting Caponier). where the opening will be held, Trukhaniv Island, and stage of the Kyiv Green Theater where the festival will close.
