If you haven’t planned a long Independence Day weekend yet, there’s a good excuse for a last-minute escape to Lviv.
“KinoLev” film festival will be devoted to Federico Fellini, whose 90th birth anniversary is celebrated thorough the world this year. “Dolce Vita,” “Rome,” and “Satyricon” will be dubbed and broadcast in Ukrainian for the first time ever.
The majority of other films on the program will feature works by Ukrainian directors to render some help to Ukraine’s feeble cinematography.
The program includes some 40 films in categories Young Cinema, Ukraine in the Eyes of the World, Best Ukrainn translation, and Silent Classics among others. Look out for French, Canadian, Polish, Libyan and Tunisian works on the program with Ukrainian subtitles.
