Supermen of Soul to play best hits

Superman of Soul and one of the 10 most influential bass players of the 1990s, according to Bass Player magazine, Marcus Miller is coming to perform in Kyiv. Marcus Miller has spent much of his career as a rhythm and blues producer, but he is also one of the most talented electric bassists around. In his youth he played RnB with such stars as Bobbi Humphrey (1977) and Lenny White before becoming a studio musician. Miller was a member of Miles Davis’ band in the 1981-1982 and accompanied the legendary trumpeter on several other projects, including Tutu and Music From Siesta. When Miles Davis died, Marcus Miller got his own group, which performs many songs in Davis’ band. Through the years he has played bass with a truly impressive list of musicians that include Donald Fagen, Aretha Franklin, Roberta Flack, Frank Sinatra, Mariah Carey, LL Cool J, Paul Simon, Elton John, Bryan Ferry, Joe Sample and George Benson, and has contributed to 385 albums by 195 artists.

After a year away, Marcus returns to Kyiv with an American version of his previously released album “Free,” which features lead vocals by soul singer Corinne Bailey Rae, Lalah Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Keb’ Mo’ and others.
