Paris rooftops may not be the place where one expects to find Ukrainian fashion designs, but Monica Bellucci makes them fit right into the scenery in the April photo shoot for Brazilian newspaper O Globo.
The Italian actress, 52, who now lives in Paris, has posed atop of an upmarket French department store The Galeries Lafayette wearing clothes from three Ukrainian fashion brands: Litkovskaya, Paskal and Ksenia Schnaider.
In the photographs shot by Ricardo Abrahao, Bellucci is seen wearing a Paskal sheer black polka dot top, combined with a dress by Dior.
Other photographs show the actress wearing a Litkovskaya dress and a bomber jacket by Ksenia Schnaider, who rose to fashion prominence after Vogue did an article on her “demi-denims,” the jeans which were since favored by dozens of popular fashionistas worldwide.
The photo shoot was styled by Ukrainian stylist Olga Yanul.
Speaking to Ukrainian news website bestin.ua, Julie Paskal, the designer behind Paskal brand, said that the photo shoot came as a surprise to her.
“It is very flattering because Monica Bellucci is not only one of my favorite actresses, but also a woman who inspires with her charisma,” Paskal said.
In the O Globo interview, Bellucci speaks about her life in Paris calling herself a “European citizen,” her daughters Deva and Léonie and her views on femininity and sexuality.
Litkovskaya, Paskal and Ksenia Schnaider are very popular abroad and can be found in many luxury department stores like Selfridges in the U.K.
