Prices in Kyiv have gone up in the run-up to the 2018 Champions League Final scheduled for May 26, but there is still a plethora of clubbing options to suit every taste and budget. Fancy venues, hidden underground parties with locals, Latin pop, rap or techno music DJ sets — Kyiv has everything needed for a wild night out.
Caribbean Club
Caribbean Club is one of the oldest venues in Kyiv, opened in 1998. Back then it was a small one-story place that mostly played salsa music. It was renovated in 2013 and is now a three-story concert hall and nightclub. At least two or three times a week the club holds jazz and rock concerts, dance shows, or theater performances.
The club is one of a few that hasn’t increased its prices for the Champions League Final weekend: the price to book a table is still Hr 500 ($19), which is, in fact, a deposit — the money counts against the cost of food and beverages guests order in the club.
Still, the price for tables differs, and a bigger table with cozy sofas can have a deposit cost of up to Hr 4,000–8,000 ($150–300).
However, guests don’t have to book a table to enter the venue. On May 25–27 the entrance fee is Hr 600 ($23) for men and Hr 300 ($12) for women. The club will host a stand-up comedy show in Russian on May 25, and Ukrainian band Dislocados will be playing salsa music starting from 9 p. m. on May 26. And each of these days Caribbean Club works all night long.
Coming to Kyiv, Husnu Akdeniz from Turkey always stops by the club.
“I like the food and the atmosphere,” he says. “When I’m there, it’s like I’m at a party thrown in my honor.”

Chi by Decadence House
The club has a mix of Asian cuisine, with blasting dance music in an atmosphere of luxury. The club is known for its above-average prices and strict dress-code: no sports clothes, strict face-control, and no intoxicated guests.
The deposit for a table on May 26 will be Hr 20,000–40,000 ($760–1,530). But as in other places, it is not obligatory to book a table to enter the venue — if a guest just wants to have a dance and a drink in the club, just paying for entry will suffice.
The club works all night, and on May 25 at 11 p. m. it will host German dance and electronic music DJ Adam Port. Entrance price: men — Hr 400 ($15), women — free.
On May 26, at 12 a. m. the club hosts afro-house DJ Hyenah from Germany and Jenia Tarsol from Israel. Entrance fee: men — Hr 400 ($15), women — free.
Viktoriya Trubchaninova from Ukraine says this place is one of a kind, yet she does not like the face control in the club because “I once booked the table and paid in advance for it, but bodyguards didn’t let me in just because I was wearing sports shoes.”
But Terry Kaufmann from Germany has high praise for the venue.
“Every time I go there, I see so many attractive women hanging out in the club, and the staff is very professional.”

Closer
Unlike Chi by Decadence House, Closer art club is well known among locals and Kyiv visitors as one of the most trendy venues in Kyiv.
The three-story club is located in a former textile factory, and is very spacious, with lots of things going on under its roof. In daytime there are lectures, movie screenings, music shows and exhibitions.
At night, Closer hosts such DJs as Ion Ludwig, Praslea, Krause Duo.
On May 25, at 9 p. m. there will be a concert by an experimental-music band from Saint-Petersburg, Shortparis. The entrance fee is Hr 400 ($15).
On May 26 at 11:55 Closer hosts Edvard and Oskar Offerman with their Deep House DJ set. Entrance fee: Hr 250–330 ($10–13).
Ian Mykhalchyshyn from Poland says that the place looks nothing like he’s seen before, and that is has a very arty atmosphere.
“I’ve met so many incredible people there,” he says. “I believe all free spirits of Kyiv come to Closer just to breathe some fresh air, to shake off the fatigue.”

D. Fleur
The crafted cocktails served in this club are just one of the reasons why this venue is so popular with locals. At the same time, its convenient and conspicuous location in the center of Kyiv makes D. Fleur a very attractive tourist destination. It looks good, too: The two-story club is decorated with lots of glass and mirrors.
On May 26–27, a deposit for a table is Hr 20,000 ($770), but again it is not necessary to book a table to enter the club.
There is however a dress-code: no sportswear, no guns and no drunk people allowed. D. Fleur also offers a wide assortment of alcoholic beverages, starting with crafted cocktails, such as an Indian Sour cocktail with freshly squeezed lemon juice for Hr 220 ($8), to fine wine — a Cristal Rose, Louis Roederer Cuvee goes for Hr 25,000 ($960) a bottle.
On May 25–26, the club will hold a Champions Party Weekend, with different Ukrainian and European DJs playing sets each day.

Indigo
Indigo is not just a club, but rather a four-story partying complex. The building hosts a restaurant with a terrace, and European cuisine on the menu, a karaoke bar, a hookah lounge, and a disco club on the third and fourth floors. The club hosts theme parties and invites DJs from Ukraine and around the world to perform there.
On May 26, there will be a live stream of the Real Madrid-Liverpool Champions League Final, and on May 25 — a Kyiv Birthday Party with dance and electronic music DJ Kristyen performing.
The entrance fee is Hr 200 for men and free for women, there is also face control and a dress-code. Booking a table on the first floor for non-smokers costs Hr 700–1,000 ($27–39), and on the second floor, for smokers, it costs Hr 1,500 ($58)
