The third installment of “Pirates of the Caribbean” series finally comes out; Kyiv city celebrations to be held this weekend

The third installment of the mega popular blockbuster “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” based on the popular ride at Walt Disney theme parks, became the most awaited sequel this summer long before its official release. Movie fan sites were bursting with guesses and gossip about the plot and the future cast. The story started in “The Curse of The Black Pearl” was continued in “The Dead Man’s Chest,” in which, it seems, everybody became a pirate in the end, though Jack Sparrow still remains the best of them all. Yet, to ensure the fans’ interest for the future adventures of Captain Sparrow, the director needed a twisted plotline. And what could be more unexpected than the league of sea monsters under the command of Davy Jones, Turner family problems, tribal festive ceremonies, and the resurrected Captain Barbossa, with his diehard monkey appearing in the end?

To prove he still had quite a few tricks up his sleeve, director Gore Verbinski, with his permanent screenwriters Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, put the characters of the film on a journey to China, a country filled with curious things so often seen in kung-fu movies. As a special treat to the fans of Jack Sparrow, his own father (at least the most probable one) will appear in “At World’s End,” played by Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, whose image, according to Johnny Depp, inspired his portrayal of his famous character. The rest of the good old company didn’t change, but to the contrary, in the third part there will be a combination of the characters from the two previous movies: Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, Keira Knightley as Elisabeth Swann, Bill Nighy as Davy Jones, Stellan Skarsgard as “Bootstrap” Bill Turner, added by Chow Yun-Fat as Captain Sao Feng.
