President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has congratulated Ukrainians and foreign guests on the opening of the Eurovision Song Contest.

“Congratulations to all of us with the fact that Eurovision has begun in Kyiv,” the president wrote on his Facebook page on May 7 evening.

At the same time, he thanked singer Jamala for the opportunity to hold the contest in Ukraine. Jamala won the contest in 2016.
