Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana decided to create a bag that would go beyond the boundaries of time and would inspire the generation of millennials.

In the era of re-evaluation of values, when consumerism is shifting backwards, and emotions and experiences are becoming new luxury, a bag should be something more than just another regular product.  That’s Devotion by Dolce & Gabbana: simple but luxurious, communicating a strong meaning.

The new bag by Italian duet  premiered at  Milan Fashion Week and arrived at the boutiques across the globe in August. Its austere shape is timeless. You can image it in every context: the owner of Devotion could be twenty or sixty years old, she could wear a denim jacket or an elegant blazer, and she would always look up to date with her favorite bag.

The recognizable lines of Devotion are an invitation to experiment. The bag comes in five variations of shape, colors and sizes. There’s a Devotion with  top handle to carry by hand, with an adjustable chain strap to wear on the shoulder, and a small cross-body which is perfect for a party.

Every stage of Devotion’s creation is done manually at Dolce & Gabbana’s artisanal workshops. The centerpiece is the bag’s heartshaped metal clasp. Besides the evident romantic connotations the heart has a religious inspiration.Sacred heart is a reference to the Catholic ex-voto. No surprise that the bag’s name is Devotion!

This clasp is a true work of art, created of micro forged brass and copper using the ancient  techniques of artisan jewelers . The heart is decorated with pearls and leaves reminding of traditional religious ornaments.

Elegance, attention to detail, contemporary spirit. Devotion bag is an evidence that the high standards of Made in Italy are highly valued by the modern generation.
