You're reading: Wizz Air Ukraine expands to 5 new destinations in 2019

Wizz Air said on Aug. 30 that the company will add a fourth airbus A320 to its Ukraine fleet and launch an additional five routes from Kyiv in March 2019, increasing its ticket offerings by 45 percent over the coming year.

The new routes will operate from Kyiv to Breman, Germany; Billund, Denmark; and Riga, Latvia; and from Lviv to Copenhagen, Denmark, and Frankfurt (Hahn), Germany. Ticket prices start from Hr 759, or $26.

Stephen Jones, executive vice president of Wizz Air, at a press conference in Kyiv said, “Today we are bringing more exciting news for our customers from Ukraine, underlining once again Wizz Air’s commitment to the country. We are happy to continue our investment with the addition of a fourth Airbus A320, creating more new direct jobs at Wizz Air as well as supporting over 1,000 jobs in aviation, tourism and other associated industries across the country. We are increasing our offer in Ukraine to more than 2.5 million tickets in 2019, on 42 routes available from 3 Ukrainian airports creating more opportunities for our customers to travel at truly the lowest.”

Wizz Air first opened its doors in Ukraine in 2008. The announced expansion for 2019 will bring its seat offerings from Ukraine up to 2.5 million, to 12 countries.
