A total of 18 new Ukrainian films were presented this year, and 72 more files are being created. In general, the balance between the financing of culture and other priorities of the country has been found, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman at a government meeting on November 7, congratulating cultural workers on the upcoming professional holiday.
According to Groysman, Ukraine is entering a new stage culturally and is moving towards the creative industry.
“Creative industries today form a rather serious significance in GDP. This is already felt in Ukraine today… cinema is dozens, hundreds, thousands of people who work in this industry,” he said.
“The most important thing is that Ukraine today is already becoming competitive, including thanks to the support of the state… This year there were 18 presentations of new Ukrainian films, 72 films are being created. Only 78 films have been released today. We consider this direction very important. It has a great potential,” the prime minister said.
The head of government added that the Ukrainian film industry is working with the best producers of world cinema.
“Our government has given a real impetus to the support of Ukrainian cinema, cinema, which is already becoming recognized in Europe, in the world,” Groysman said.
