You're reading: Ukraine to extend sanctions against 9 Russian publishing houses

The State Committee for Television and Radio-broadcasting (Derzhkomteleradio) intends to initiate the extension of the current restrictive measures against nine Russian publishing houses.

“According to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the sanctions were applied to nine Russian publishers, the most distinguished in publishing anti-Ukrainian literature […] Since, after the application of sanctions, these publishers continue to produce publications of anti-Ukrainian content, the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting intends to initiate an extension of the sanctions, which expire in March 2022,” the press service of the department said.

According to the report, it is about the publishing houses “Eksmo”, “AST”, “Peter”, “Tsentrpoligraf”, “Yauza”, “Yauza-press”, “Algorithm”, “Book World” and “Veche”.

As reported, on March 19, 2019, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) included eleven Russian publishing houses in the list of legal entities subject to additional sanctions, including: Eksmo Publishing House, AST Publishing House, Book World, Veche Publishing House, Tsentrpoligraf Publishing House, Yauza Publishing House and Yauza-Press, Reksoft, Labyrinth.Ru, Litres (all – Moscow), Peter Publishing House ( St. Petersburg).
