You're reading: Ukrainian director films another music video for Cardi B, Normani

Ukrainian director Tanu Muiño has had a year like no other.

After collaborating with hip-hop stars Cardi B and Lil Nas X, Muiño is enjoying another celebrity premiere: This time, a music video for U.S. singer Normani, featuring Cardi B.

The video for “Wild Side,” an R’n’B single with a rap verse from Cardi B, came out on July 16 and has drawn over 1 million YouTube views in no time.

“Best crazy team involved! Love you guys, we made it!” Muiño wrote on Instagram following the release.

The piece brings together a series of choreographed scenes, as it films Normani and Cardi B in racy outfits or a lack thereof.

“Get your lotions I mean your coins,” Cardi B wrote in an Instagram post teasing the release of the video on July 16.

Muiño said she enjoyed working with both stars, calling Normani a hard worker who killed it on the set. “I’m so grateful I have an opportunity to work with you!”

The director, however, said that Cardi B is her favorite. “Each time you perform I’m speechless!”

Muiño and the rapper have previously worked together on a music video for Cardi B’s “Up,” which premiered in February and has reached more than 172 million views on YouTube since then. Upon the release, Cardi B called Muiño “amazing” and said she flew her to the United States all the way from Ukraine to specifically shoot together.

Later in March, Muiño contributed to the production of one of Lil Nas X’s most-watched music videos. The filmmaker co-directed the provocative piece for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” along with the rapper himself.
