Ukrainian-born photographer Yana Yatsuk shot world superstar Billie Eilish for the Rolling Stone July/August cover.

“I could go on and on about how this feels but I’m just going to continue to embrace the happy tears that haven’t left me since we shot this in May,” Yatsuk wrote on Instagram.

Eilish’s Rolling Stone interview, along with the photo series by Yatsuk, was published online on June 17. The story covers the singer’s changing style and growth in music, with the issue dedicated to the upcoming release of her new album “Happier Than Ever” set to come out on July 30.

Eilish is photographed alone in her parents’ home in Los Angeles’s Highland Park neighborhood. The singer sports her new blond hairstyle, while dressed in elegant minimalist outfits. Through Yatsuk’s lens, she laughs, buttons up a shirt, plays in a puddle and offers her signature languid look.

“Thank you Billie Eilish for your trust, grace, infectious laughs, and vulnerability,” Yatsuk captioned her Instagram photo of the singer. “A woman on top of the world with your humble and kind nature deserves it all and more. Couldn’t have asked for a better collaborator and subject.”

The July/August Rolling Stone issue featuring Yatsuk’s portraits of Eilish is available to order on the magazine’s website.

This isn’t the first time Yatsuk has shot for Rolling Stone, a U.S. magazine that covers popular culture. Her first photoshoot for the magazine was with U.S. singer-songwriter Teddy Geiger, for the Women’s Issue in 2019. Since then she has shot stars such as The Beatles’ drummer Ringo Starr, actress Regina King and popstar KingPrincess for various Rolling Stone issues.

Yatsuk was born and raised in Ivano-Frankivsk, a city of 237,000 around 604 kilometers northwest of Kyiv. She moved to the United States and now mostly works in Los Angeles and New York City.

Yatsuk has shot a number of other U.S. celebrities including singer Willow and actress Ana de Armas.

Eilish, 19, has broken records in the music industry becoming the youngest person ever to win the album of the year award at the 2020 Grammys, a title previously held by Taylor Swift, and the only woman in history to sweep all four major categories. Becoming a world star at just 16, Eilish is known for her melancholy vocals, poignant lyrics and dark music videos, as well as a distinctive style with colorful hairstyles and baggy streetwear.
