Ukraine’s Culture Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko has said the national list of elements of the intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine following the ministry’s recommendation will include the culture of cooking Ukrainian borscht.

Traditional Ukrainian borshch, a hearty soup made with beetroot, meat and other vegetables, is often served with a dollop of sour cream and a sprig of dill. A common accompaniment is pampushki - small bread rolls served with garlic sauce.
