Famous Ukrainians will join efforts with some 8,000 registered participants to spotlight the problem of breast cancer at “Unite against breast cancer” event on the weekend.
Everyone’s invited to walk a symbolic “Pink mile” in Kyiv at 10 a.m. on Sept.25 at Independence square. A big concert will follow with Alena Vinnytska, Alyosha, Mika Newton, Oleksandr Ponomarev, Gaitana, and S.K.A.Y. among others gracing the stage. Singers will call on Ukrainian women to monitor their health regularly.
Through a public auction of some items belonging to celebrities and some other interesting items, the organizers plan to raise around Hr 200,000 for the “Second School of Mammography” project. Its aim is to train Ukrainian X-ray specialists to effectively diagnose breast cancer.
Organized by the charity fund “Women’s health and family planning", the event is in its sixth year.
