You're reading: Video by Ukraine’s Onuka gets to Berlin Fashion Film Festival’s shortlist

Music video “Vidlik” by Ukrainian electronic folk band Onuka has been included to the shortlist of the annual Berlin Fashion Film Festival. It is represented in four categories: Best New Artist, Best Music Video, Art Director and Styling.

Nata Zhyzhchenko, the band’s lead singer, said on Facebook it was “time to celebrate lots of hard work” of everyone who has worked on the video.

“Thank you so much,” she wrote.

Berlin Fashion Film Festival annually collects the best works from all around the world. The festival’s jury has watched and selected 150 films out of 985 to be nominated this year. Katy Perry and RY X are among Onuka’s competitors in the Best Music Video Category.

The 7th Berlin Fashion Film Festival will be held on July 12-13. Winners will be announced at the end of the festival.

Onuka was created in 2013 by Ukrainian musicians Zhyzhchenko and Yevhen Filatov. The first album of the band was released in 2014 and has
immediately led the charts of iTunes Ukraine. “Vidlik” music video was released in April 2016. Now it has more than 4 million views on YouTube.

“Vidlik” is the first joint work of Onuka and Ukrainian director Anna Buryachkova in cooperation with Patoka Studio and Radioaktivefilm production service company that also works with Coldplay and Natalie Imbruglia.

Onuka will present its new album “Mozaїka,” which includes 10 songs, on Dec. 7 at Kyiv’s Stereo Plaza.
