Vladimir Klitschko vs. Ruslan Chagaev

Previously Vladimir Klitschko was meant to fight David Haye on June 20, but the arrangements were cancelled due to Haye’s recent injury. Instead, Klitschko will confront heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev of Uzbekistan at Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, before 60,000 viewers. If Klitschko wins, the brothers may obtain the World Boxing Association champion title, currently held by Chagaev and Nikolai Valuyev. On June 10, however, WBA representatives said that Klitschko won’t be able to claim the belt even if he wins. To do that, he would have to fight Valuyev. However, the Klitschkos still have time to persuade WBA to side with them.
