Onuka

Ukrainian electronic folk band Onuka has been a sensation ever since its debut in 2014. The group’s releases are always hotly anticipated in Ukraine and the recently-dropped album “Kolir” was no exception. Two months after release, the band will present the album during a solo concert. Onuka’s style is a combination of electronic and ethno sounds, played using traditional Ukrainian instruments. The concert is expected to be full of intimate and touching moments, as the new album’s creation was inspired by the experience of parenthood of Onuka’s frontwoman, Nata Zhyzhchenko, and her husband, sound producer Yevhen Filatov. Zhyzhchenko’s favorite song from the album is “Ty” (You), which she wrote right after her son’s birth.

Chinese art exhibition

As the art exhibition “The Perfect. World of a Woman in Chinese Artists’ Work” comes to an end, this weekend is the last opportunity to experience its many pieces exploring the life of Chinese women in 18th – early 20th centuries. Presenting paintings, sculptures and decorative works by Chinese artists, the exhibition offers a peek into the lifestyles and perceptions of Chinese women in the patriarchal society. Some of the art portrays women who went against the grain by pursuing martial arts and bravely fighting for gender equality.
