‘Wonder Woman 1984’

This year was not rich in film premieres because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The U.S. superhero movie “Wonder Woman 1984” is among the biggest and most anticipated films of 2020. Directed by Patty Jenkins, who is also known for the crime drama “Monster,” the new movie is an adaptation based on the DC Comics about Wonder Woman. It is the sequel to the 2017 “Wonder Woman.”  The new movie spotlights the character’s adventures in 1984, during the Cold War. The film stars Israeli actress Gal Gadot as a superhero warrior-queen Diana Prince, or Wonder Woman, along with U.S. actor Chris Pine and actress Kristen Wiig. Although the film received mixed reviews from the critics, it still might be worth watching to get distracted from the pandemic for two hours. “Wonder Woman 1984” will be screened in Kyiv cinemas Zhovten and Planeta Kino in English on Dec. 24-30, 2020.
