Latexfauna

Latexfauna is giving an offline music show — a rarity these days. The group is one of a few Ukrainian bands that partly sings in surzhyk, a colorful mixture of Ukrainian and Russian languages. Since its founding in 2015, the band has won a solid fan base praising their mesmerizing dream pop and psychedelic stories told through lyrics.

Low party

The Low party promoter is celebrating 12 years this weekend. Their famous party series calls itself “the main disco nights of Ukraine.” Its upcoming anniversary event will take place at Kyiv’s Closer club, featuring DJs Pavel Plastikk, who is also Low’s founder, b2b Jazzmate, Philipp Markovich, Shatalow and Olegue Zabava, a vinyl record collector hunting for rare and authentic sounds.

‘Akhnaten’

The U.S. Metropolitan Opera takes the viewer to ancient Egypt in its version of “Akhnaten.” The three-act performance is based on the famous opera of U.S. composer Philip Glass. It follows the revolutionary Egyptian pharaoh Akhnaten and his wife Nefertiti and their ideas that would later influence the whole of humanity. Director Phelim McDermott’s award-winning wraps the story into fascinating costumes and spectacular performances of acrobats and jugglers. The opera will be screened in English with Ukrainian subtitles.

Giant Chinese Lantern Festival

An incredible event for those longing for a vivid spectacle. The Giant Chinese Lantern Festival will engross people in the mysterious atmosphere of the Celestial Empire. The exhibition will combine 30 themed locations made with a variety of lanterns. The exhibited compositions portray Terracotta Army, the Great Wall of China, the Sichuan Opera, the Valley of Flowers, wish tree with pandas, and the characters of ancient Chinese fairy tales.

People will be able to take nice pictures near the extremely photogenic giant Fire Lion. The performance also includes fire show, animators, attractions for adults and children, food courts and thematic workshops.
