Ostrov Festival

One of the hottest festivals of electronic music in Ukraine is back. Ostrov Festival will run nonstop for two and a half days and feature 30 DJs from around the world. The headliner is Belgian Charlotte de Witte, whose techno sets get millions of views on YouTube. There are also German Dj Sven Väth, whom the organizers call the “father” of the global techno scene, Italian producer Fedele and many more. The local scene is represented by Etapp Kyle, Nastia, Koloah, Daria Kolosova and more. The festival will have two stages, bars and food courts.

Artichoke Vintage Market

The ninth edition of Artichoke Vintage Market is bringing together collectors from around Ukraine and abroad, including Paris and London, who will present their antique finds for sale. The event is organized by French interior design studio, Artichoke. Vintage lovers will be able to buy a variety of goods including English porcelain found at London flea markets, apparel, accessories, furniture in oriental style and home decor. A glass of cold sparkling wine poured at the bar stall will cool off the visitors on a hot summer weekend.

The touching melancholic vocals of Swedish singer Jay-Jay Johanson are known all across the world. This weekend, they will be finally heard in Kyiv, on the bank of the Dnipro River. In his songs, Johanson blends electronica with jazz and vocals. At the Kyiv concert, he will perform songs from his latest album, “Kings Cross,” released in 2019, which he wrote after experiencing a creative crisis. One of the tracks from the record, “Heart Somebody Whistle,” was a soundtrack to the Swedish film “Amusement Park” (“Swoon”), in which Johanson debuted as an actor.

Jazz picnic in the botanical garden

It’s the perfect time for summer picnics in the garden and few things can beat a live jazz show in the open air. Eurovision Song Contest 2016 winner Jamala, French jazz band BaKos, local musician Cape Cod, who mixes electronic beats with jazz, and other artists will provide entertainment. There will also be a vinyl records market, flea market, book stands, an area for children to play, food stalls and a bar, treating visitors to cold lemonades and wine.

Sweet Market

The upcoming market by Vsi Svoi is a paradise for every sweet tooth. About 100 local brands will sell sweets for every taste: chocolate, cakes, cookies, pastilles, jams, candies, sweet sauces, candied fruits, fruit chips and healthy sweets without sugar. All visitors are asked to wear masks and maintain social distance.
