White Nights. Tulum
After being on pause for a year, Kyiv’s highly anticipated annual summer music festival White Nights is back this weekend. Held at Platforma Art Factory, the festival will feature two nights of modern music with more than 100 names on the lineup. The headliners are U.K. electronic band Kerala Dust, Danish indie trio WhoMadeWho, German techno DJ and producer Thomas Schumacher and French electronic trio dOP. There will also be bars and food, and many activities for visitors to enjoy. This year’s theme is inspired by the ancient Mayan city Tulum and will be embodied in the decoration and scenery of the festival, inviting guests to dress accordingly.

‘True&Local. Secret Garden Edition’
For lovers of gastronomy, True&Local’s food market is the place to be this weekend. Hosted in the cool flower garden of Villa Verde, the event will feature a farmer’s market with local products, a food court from Kyiv restaurants and producers, lectures, tasting marathons, music and other entertainment.

‘Lust’
This weekend, the nameless electronic music club on Kyrylyska Street is launching a new Queer party format, Lust, which will take place regularly. The event aims to create a place of empowerment for the LGBTQ community and bring an atmosphere of weirdness and fun to Kyiv’s clubbing scene. Starting on Friday night and running till 11 a.m. on Saturday, the party will feature Ukrainian and international DJs including Kahma She, DJ Gigola, Cali Rose, Byron Yeates and more. The club is asking guests to come dressed in glamourous, bright-colored outfits and use glitter and makeup to express their creativity.

‘When Fear Becomes a Friend’
The Naked Room’s new exhibit titled “When Fear Becomes a Friend” spotlights Ukrainian contemporary artist Sasha Kuzmaz. He has previously won the C/O Berlin Talent Award and the Kazimir Malevich Art Award and has participated in numerous exhibitions in Germany, Poland, Austria and France. His new exhibition is a collection of silk prints, photographs and objects created between 2009 and today, dealing with the cross-cut theme of “feelings of anxiety and horror caused by the flow of information about violence, the real and the symbolic.”

Jazz concerts
For lovers of jazz music and the outdoors, Svitlo Concert is hosting two shows this weekend. On June 18, locals have the chance to enjoy a live concert with a glass of wine in the Gryshko Botanical Garden and on the rooftop of the TsUM Department Store on June 20 to hear jazz singer Chuck Wansley from Los Angeles performing with the support of some Ukrainian jazz musicians.
