‘Three years of sweet bohemian life’

Kyiv’s popular Bursa hotel celebrates its third anniversary this Saturday and welcomes all to join the hot celebration. On June 26 the hotel arranges a great party titled “Three years of sweet bohemian life.” The party’s lineup features British darkwave band Lebanon Hanover, as well as DJs Alejandro Molinari and Sydney Valette. Apart from dancing, visitors to the party can also enjoy delicious alcoholic cocktails and wines. There is no particular dress code, the organizers say, and the party will be held until the morning of June 27.

Live music shows 

There is no better way to savor the hot summer night than to enjoy the outdoor live music show with a great view of Kyiv. This weekend, Svitlo Concert is hosting two such shows. On June 26, Kyiv citizens get a chance to savor “the most romantic night of the summer” by listening to soundtracks from such legendary movies as “Amelie,” “Midnight in Paris,” and more, performed by Kyiv’s Virtuosos orchestra. Jazz lovers can enjoy the music show on June 27. Both concerts will be held on the rooftop of the TsUM Department Store that offers a mesmerizing view of the capital.

Book Arsenal   

The Kyiv-based Book Arsenal Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Ukraine’s largest annual literary and art fair, Book Arsenal, aims at bringing together publishers from all over the country together with the fans of literature. In March 2019, the festival was even declared as the best literary festival at the London Book Fair International Excellence Awards. This year, apart from the fair that features around 200 publishers and illustrators, the four-day festival will also hold discussions, performances, readings, and more. “Exercises on being loose” is a new exhibition at the capital’s Shcherbenko Art Center featuring the artworks of acclaimed Ukrainian contemporary artist Oleksandr Roitburd. The artist is known for his provocative paintings and installations. Besides Ukraine, Roitburd also had his personal art exhibitions in the U.S. This time, the artist will present a series of his new paintings that feature “sculptures and female half-figures.” The exhibition will be held at Shcherbenko Art Center until July 24. The entrance is free.
