Ulichnaya Eda

After a 1.5-year break, street food festival Ulichnaya Eda is finally back. Since its launch in 2014, the festival has grown to become one of the favorite summer events for many Kyivans. For its comeback edition on June 5-6, the festival has prepared some new twists. It will launch the Chef’s Corner, a spot where chefs from some of Kyiv’s best eateries will treat foodies to their specialties. The lineup includes the brand chef of First Line Group, which runs Italian Edition, Eastman and other hit restaurants, and the co-founders of the capital’s beloved Pie Spot pizzeria. The event will bring together more than 60 food producers and restaurants selling treats from their festival food stands, promising to satisfy any culinary preferences. Visitors will also be able to sip cocktails and shop at a makeshift market with clothes and decor. The entertainment will be provided by Ukrainian star rap Alyona Alyona, who will give a DJ set at 7 p.m. on June 5.

The capital’s favorite vintage market is about to open for the summer season. Kyivness, which is often held at picturesque locations, this time will unfold on the rooftop of the Kooperativ co-working in central Kyiv. The market promotes conscious consumption, bringing together vintage sellers and local brands that sell all kinds of goods including clothes, shows, accessories, books and décor.

Ukraine’s iconic drum-n-bass Dj Anatoly Tapolsky, simply know as Tapolsky on stage, has prepared an offbeat performance for the Kyiv audience. The DJ teamed up with a string quartet Black Tie to mix his electronic beats with classical sound. The party will take place in the depth of the botanical garden greenery. “I thought I needed to do something as unusual as possible in a cool place,” Tapolsky said. The lineup will also include D-White, Panchez and Lime Kid.

Laboratorium electronic music festival

The young but ambitious three-year-old Laboratorium electronic music festival throws its first edition after the start of the pandemic. The event is gathering a star lineup made of Ukrainian and foreign DJs. The nighttime program features I Hate Models from France, Jno from the Netherlands, Parallx from Germany, #BSKD from Kharkiv, Heletron from Lviv, Alex Schultz from Odesa and Spalah b2b Kama from Kyiv.

Veselka

Veselka (Rainbow in Ukrainian) is one of few queer parties held in Kyiv, raising LGBTQ friendliness one event at a time. For the first time in its history, Veselka is exchanging stuffy club settings for an open-air location by the Dnipro River. “Our principles remain the same: No sexism, no racism, no Homophobia,” the organizers say. The star lineup of the two-day party is full of impressive names including Berlin-based Tham and Dax J, and Julian Muller coming from Brussels. Ukrainians to play by the decks are Danilenko, Daria Kolosova, Koloah, Nastya Muravyova, Denis Polyakov and others. The organizers will disclose the location on the day of the event.
