Muses Slow Rave

A party at the HVLV (Khvylovyi) bar is a great chance to celebrate International Women’s Day. This Monday, the always noisy and crowded HVLV throws a party called “Muses Slow Rave,” and its lineup features female DJs only: local Annette, Valentine and Anna Aloka. Their music menu will offer downtempo, slow electronics and drops of ethnic motifs.

Maslyana

Kyiv’s electronic club Closer is inviting partygoers to celebrate spring and start the season of outdoor parties with 30 hours of music and dancing. The two-day event is scheduled for the last two days of Maslyana, a week-long Eastern Slavic holiday that marks the coming of spring and the beginning of a new life cycle. Closer’s Maslyana will be held at three locations, starting outside at the Kureni restaurant about five kilometers away from Closer. Then the event will move to Closer at night and finish at the Lesnoy Prichal dancefloor outside the club the next day. The lineup includes Berlin DJ duo The Ghost, American Evan Baggs, Romanian Priku, and locals SE62, Noizar and Borys. Closer will announce the exact time soon. The early ticket is Hr 550 but the price at the entrance will be higher.

 Old Friends Retro Market

Kyiv’s Old Friends Retro Market is back. The two-day event will bring together the sellers of rare vintage accessories, perfumes, garments, as well as home decor like candles and paintings, crockery and more. The theme of this edition is “Roaring Twenties” – just like a century ago, when the world experienced an economic and cultural revival after World War I, now the globe is entering the new 20s with just as much anticipation for change, the organizers say.

Old Friends Retro Market. Cinema House (6 Saksahanskoho St.) March 6-7. 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Free.
