‘Circa 2020’
Kyiv’s avant-garde gallery The Naked Room continues to spotlight Ukrainian artists. Its new exhibition “Circa 2020” is a collection of sculptures depicting female figures by Vitaliy Kokhan. “The female figure is probably one of the most popular sculptural genres, from ancient art to high modernism, and therefore one of the most trivial,” reads the exhibition’s description. However, Kokhan boldly experiments with the theme, working with cardboard, concrete and cast iron alongside classical wood, copper and bronze.
“Circa 2020.” The Naked Room (21 Reitarska St.) May 13 – June 13. 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Free.
